Abstract: (10 Views) |
| The present study was conducted with the aim of developing a model of lean thinking of meritocracy in the management of sports organizations. The research method was qualitative, carried out using grounded theory approach. Participants included 15 experts and specialists in the field of sports management, with whom semi-structured interviews were conducted. The data obtained from these interviews were analyzed using open, axial, and selective coding methods. The results indicated that 58 initial conceptual propositions (open coding) and 23 selective coding concepts were derived within 6 theoretical categories from the interviewees' perspectives. The findings revealed that factors such as familiarization, participation, learning, trust, foresight, and systems thinking influenced the core phenomenon of meritocracy. Furthermore, meritocracy strategies in sports organizations, in interaction with contextual and intervening factors, led to individual and organizational outcomes. The meritocracy model in sports organizations emerges under the influence of individual and organizational factors. Therefore, managers and planners of sports organizations should facilitate the process of establishing meritocracy to cultivate competent managers by fostering participation, organizational learning, trust-building, foresight, and systems thinking. |
