IntroductionVaginitis is the most common gynecological problem prompting the majority of clinical visits among women . Candida vulvovaginitis is the second most common type of vaginitis. In the last century, Candida vaginitis outbreaks has witnessed a significant increased. The widespread prescription of Antifungal drugs as a form of prevention and treatment for Candida has resulted in drug resistant strains. The use of herbal medicines is more in keeping with the body's natural flora, causing fewer complications. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of Micosin vaginal cream Vs. Miconazole vaginal cream for the treatment of mycotic vaginitis.   Material & methodsT his study is a double blind clinical trial conducted in 2013 on 120 non-pregnant women between the ages of 15-49 who visited Rasoul Akram Hospital in Rasht with complaints and clinical signs of candida vaginitis. The participating samples in this study were randomly divided into two groups of Miconazole (60 people) and Micosin (60 people) . Data on demographic, check list of clinical examinations and laboratory samples were collected. The gathered data was analyzed with 95% confidence level using SPSS software based on Chi-square and McNemar tests.   ResultsThe Frequency distribution of patients' complaints (malodorous discharge, dysuria, frequent urination, itching, scratching during coitus, Abdominal pain, inflammation during coitus and dysparonia), clinical symptoms (vaginits inflammation, the consistency, color and appearance of discharge) and the laboratory results demonstrated statistically significant difference before and after the treatment in each group who were prescribed Micosin and Miconazole, (p< 0/05). But the frequency distribution of patients' complaints and clinical symptoms and laboratory results did not show any statistically significant difference between the two groups taking Miconazole and Micosin after the treatment (p>0/05)   Conclusions Based on the results of the study, the effec t of either drugs for the treatment of vaginitis is the same, which makes using Micosin - which has herbal ingredients- a more preferable treatment for vaginitis .
