Identifying the Factors Influencing Spiritual Intelligence and Their Impact on Organizational Trust Among Primary School Teachers

| In light of extensive developments, organizational trust acts as a beating heart that guarantees the survival and vitality of educational organizations. The objective of this study was to identify the factors affecting spiritual intelligence and evaluate their impact on organizational trust among primary school teachers. This study is applied in terms of purpose and employs a mixed-methods (qualitative-quantitative) exploratory research design. In the qualitative phase, data were collected through unstructured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify dimensions associated with spiritual intelligence. In the quantitative phase, organizational trust data were collected using the questionnaire developed by Elonen et al. (2008), comprising 33 items across three dimensions: vertical trust or trust in managers (items 1–11), horizontal trust or trust in colleagues (items 12–22), and institutional trust or trust in the organization (items 23–33). Quantitative data for spiritual intelligence were gathered using a researcher-made 26-item questionnaire. The statistical population for the qualitative phase comprised 32 exemplary teachers and subject heads, whereas the quantitative phase encompassed all primary school staff in District 1 of Ardabil ($N = 1,070$). Purposive sampling was used in the qualitative phase until theoretical saturation was reached after 10 interviews. In the quantitative phase, stratified sampling was applied due to population heterogeneity, resulting in a sample size of 285 participants (73 males and 212 females). To examine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and organizational trust, multiple regression analysis, correlation tests (Pearson and Spearman), and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed using SPSS and SmartPLS software. The findings revealed a strong, positive correlation between spiritual intelligence and organizational trust among primary school teachers ($r = 0.793$). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination ($R^2 = 0.653$) indicated that $65.3%$ of the variance in the dependent variable is explained by the independent variables in the model. Overall, the regression model demonstrated statistical significance ($F(4, 280) = 131.690, p < 0.001$), confirming that spiritual intelligence significantly influences organizational trust. |
